One of my favorite posts and memories from last year was the Galentine’s Day Brunch. It was so fun to meet with some of my favorite bloggers and friends, and just allow ourselves to be spoiled. Given that I’m still dreaming of Urbane’s food from last year, when the opportunity came along to do it again I couldn’t clear my schedule fast enough.
Galentine’s Day is tomorrow, February 13th and if you need a little inspiration to make the day extra special, I’m hoping this is the push you need!
Galentine’s Day Brunch at Urbane in Seattle
Last year, I was pregnant and not able to enjoy all the tasty treats. This year, it was go time! I can’t wait to share with you the different brunch items we were treated to, the fabulous decorations and the extra special floral touches that blew my mind. All this was captured by the talented Missy Palacol (a recent new mommy herself!) and brought to you.
I love sharing and reading these types of posts because I find they inspire me to carve out quality time with those that I love and add in details to make it extra special.
As a new mom, I’m quickly learning that my time is not just divided, it’s completely not my own. I can’t just run out at whim without thinking of child care, and when and how I’m going to pump for the next bottle become all important.
Therefore, I’m trying to keep an intentional focus on spending time without Olivia and maintaining those other relationships in my life, even if it’s a lot harder. Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse and reason to spend some time on friendships. And hey, if they happen to come with gourmet meals, fancy drinks and a jaw dropping tablescape…all the better ;).
Let’s talk for a minute about the tablescape, which really sets the tone for any event. With the bustle of downtown Seattle in the background at Urbane, this gloomy day was seriously brightened up with the thought, love and creativity that went into the details of this gorgeous setting. Holcomb Weddings and Events added the non-floral decoration that complimented everything perfectly.
The flowers were spectacular, (as they always are from First & Bloom) and this year, they were also meant to be worn. Say what? Yep, flower jewelry! A hand crafted necklace specifically designed for each of us that we wore throughout the day. And when we were done showing them off we could even plant the succulent at home!
I kind of felt like I was dripping with jewels…except they were flowers obviously. There was just something so lavish about wearing ornate blooms that I couldn’t help but smile. And smell myself :).
Now let’s get to the food. Breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal of the day after all and Urbane knows how to do it right! Yes, I tasted everything :).
They also had me at Beecher’s….
Yogurt Bowl – Ellenos Greek Yogurt, Bananas, Berries, House-made Granola, Honey
Spinach and Mushroom Omelet – Foraged Mushrooms, Spinach, Beechers Cheddar
Emerald City Breakfast Sandwich – Hill’s Ham, Mama Lil’s Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Beechers Cheddar, Scrambled cage free Eggs, Macrina Potato roll

Urbane is also known for their unique drinks and I have a sneak peek of some not yet released libations right here! Consider yourself in the know 😉
The lineup (from left to right) – Julep: Maker’s Mark bourbon, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, muddled lemon and rosemary,
Lavender Spritz: Sipsmith gin, St. Germaine, mint infused simple syrup, lavender bitters, soda
Sweet Smoke: Xicaru Espadin Mezcal, Solerno blood orange liqueur, grapefruit juice, lime juice, chili infused simple syrup, chili salt rim
Jet City: Sipsmith gin, Aperol, Fresh Lemon and Lime juice, basil infused simple syrup.
I’m really trying to live more in the big and small moments. Galentine’s Brunch at Urbane was definitely an unforgettable morning that filled my heart, eyes and belly with delight.
These women (and mamas!) are some of the most authentic and lovely women I’ve met and I hope you follow them along on social media because you too will be inspired. And really, that’s what Galentine’s is all about. Celebrating women and friendship…with a little extra gusto on February 13th.
