Happy Thursday! A quick post for all my West Side Washingtonians out there to let you know of a store opening that you’ll want to check out. The store is definitely not new to anyone, as Fred Meyer is a long-established and recognized brand. However, this Grand Opening and new store model is….well, grand! Please take a quick ooh and ahh, and then the next time you are on the Eastside, check out Bellevue Fred Meyer!
Bellevue Fred Meyer Grand Opening
I received store credit for my honest review of the new store. All opinions are mine alone…and practically perfect in every way 0;-)
Fun fact. I worked at Fred Meyer during college. It was for less than a year but I got quite proficient at scanning things at checkout. To this day, my husband gives me high praise when I charge my way through the U-Scan :). I also shop often at my neighborhood Fred Meyer so when I had the chance to attend the new Bellevue Fred Meyer Grand Opening Preview Party, I was more than ready.
First off, Fred Meyer really knows how to open a store! The preview party was like a Costco food sampling day on steroids (without all the lines, holla!) where they showed off some of the products that make them unique (like Mountain Steam mushrooms) as well as all the new additions and departments.
What new additions?
The most obvious one was the bar. That’s right, there is a bar inside the store! Called “Cork & Tap”, it boasts a wine bar (16 rotating wines for the customer), a wine cellar, and a Growler Bar featuring 10 taps of Local Craft beer/Cider/Kombucha. I’m not a big drinker and I love Kombucha, so this is such a nice option!
Which has a large Middle Eastern/Indian Assortment of food to choose from like Naan Bread and Chicken Tiki Masala.
Cold Grab and Go
This is my section:). I’m all about grabbing and going and they have a large assortment of bowls and trays that are perfect for those nights when you’re limited on time (which, isn’t that almost every night?!).
Along those lines, in the seafood section, there is also an Easy For You Meals area, where you can grab seafood meals to go. It’s like they know me!
Expanded and Open Produce Section
So many fresh and local fruits! They have an enlarged their organic and Asian choices as well. We were able to sample some Ddragonfruit and if you caught my Insta Stories you’ll notice we did a little Boomerang shindig with a large and furry dragonish-like creature:).
Of course. This one is really big and with plenty of seating. If for some reason that area fills up, there’s a nearby fireplace, café area where you can hang out. Oh, and there’s a TV there too:).
Large Organic/Health Section
This is the main reason I shop at Fred Meyer more than any other store. They have a much bigger choice of organics, and I don’t just mean food. From vitamins to body lotion, Fred Meyer offers a more natural-minded selection than any other traditional grocery store. IMHO :).
A Baby Section
I haven’t seen this before in a FM but perhaps I haven’t been as tuned in since I didn’t have a baby. Now, with one on the way, this one inside the Bellevue Fred Meyer definitely caught my eye.
In House Smoker
For all your meaty needs 🙂
Then you have your Fred Meyer favorites, like:
Home & Garden
With such cute spring ideas!
Spring trends, workout gear, and a very large fitting room area. They even had a large selection of our local team gear, which spoke directly to the sports fanatic in me!
…and all the other departments like Electronics or the Bakery that have been Fred Meyer staples.
I’m sure there’s more that I didn’t showcase here, so you’ll have to head over to the Bellevue Fred Meyer and check it out for yourself! It’s on 148th Ave NE and is open now.
Thank you again to Fred Meyer for giving us a sneak peek at what the community is gaining and all the yummy treats!
Have you checked this store out yet? What’s your favorite feature?
