Happy 1st of July! The months arrive faster and faster but somehow this one crept up on me extra fast. As in, my friend texted me to confirm we were going out to their other property for the holiday weekend and I was shocked that the holiday weekend was like, now. How did that happen? How is it already summer?
I’m not complaining; I really like summer. I just know how full it is and how fast it flies! For me July has a bit of everything, 2-3 destination weekends, some fun blogging events and collaborations, birthday parties, and meeting up with a good “virtual friend” who is coming to town IRL. Should be a Snap happy month; just have to remember to Snap it!
In this post you’ll find some dates and events to help you plan your month (if needed), my regular Friday Favorites (but with a red, white and blue twist), and goal setting at the end. Happy Fri-Yay 🙂
July at a Glance
For the past year, I’ve been listing out the National Days for each month? Do you guys like that at all or find it useful? You can find all of July’s National Days Here in the post I did last year. Some of the ones I have highlighted this month are:
July 7th (Strawberry Sundae or Take a Walk Day)
July 10th (Pina Colada)
July 11th (Slurpee or Pet Photo Day)
July 19th (Ice Cream)
July Happenings & Highlights
Tour De France (starts July 2nd and ends the 24th)
A Spacecraft that we launched 5 years ago reaches Jupiter on 7/4. Far out 🙂
Wimbledon (Women’s Final July 9th, Men’s the 10th)
Democratic Convention (7/25)
Harry Potter. The new book that’s not really a book is out on the 31st.
4th of July/Friday Favorites
Look how creative these BBQ Cupcakes are from LifeLoveLiz?
Favorite Fashion Find
There are so many ways you can go with your patriotic fashion choice this week. I like this classy and understated outfit which is still full of spirit from Stitch Fix.
Favorite 4th DIY
This Front door decoration from ThroughTheYellowDoor.com is calling my name to try to make. For next year of course :).
Favorite 4th Makeup
I’m not sure if it’s the look or that a redhead is doing the tutorial but I’m loving it!
I’m almost hesitant to make any goals this month because I feel like I’m behind on everything as is. Yet, few things feel as good as crossing things off lists, am I right?! So here we go. New month; new opportunities! First let’s see how miserably I failed in June, shall we? I’m going to be completely real with you guys when I say that June was a very overwhelming month; in my “take things day by day” approach my goals got blindsided. It happens. I think I’ll make July’s a little more achievable 😉
Finally roll out the redesign.
Nailed it! What do you think?
Review my New Year’s Resolution and evaluate where I’m at and what adjustments need to be made. Failed it. Big time. I actually didn’t even remember I made this one. That’s the problem with not posting your goals somewhere.
Clean out flower box and plant new flowers/herbs.
Drink more water (at least 8-8 oz glasses)
Failed it. Is it possible I actually got worse at this one? Yikes.
Be consistent with exercise (3-4 x week), even if its mild exercise or walking.
Failed it. I was consistent with failing this one.
Start a new book.
Failed it. Kind of. I started a new Bible study that has taken a bit of my free time. It’s a book, but not the kind I had in mind for this goal.
Make my hiking list and plan out the hikes.
Semi-Failed. I’ve collected many names of places, thanks to friends in the know. I just have to put them all together into my final list.
Make progress on hubby’s Bday (book a venue).
Semi-Failed. I actually spent a lot of time on this but have had trouble finding exactly what I want. I do however, have some venues set up to visit next week so hopefully one will be booked and then I can actually start planning the stuff I love. The details!
Book a venue for Eric’s Party
Finish Capsule Wardrobe/Closet Project (this is a pretty exciting collaboration I’m doing so be on the lookout!)
Finish the Hiking Master list and go on at least one
Drink daily intake of water
Get at least 3 days of exercise in week
Work on things off of the summer bucket list
Get through IVF retrieval (I haven’t talked about this a lot on here and I plan to a little at some point. It needed to be on my goal list however, because it’ll be a nice little pat on the back when I make it through this stage).
Okay, so you should have lots of info and inspiration to make this 4th and month of July as amazing as possible. No pressure :). Even if you just chill on your couch watching fireworks on TV (or heck, even if you fall asleep before they start), whatever you do I hope you enjoy it to the fullest and find beauty throughout July!
And let me know what you’re loving, making, doing and trying this month!! Happy Independence Day 🙂
