Happy Monday loved ones! Another weekend and another Valentine’s Day is officially in the books. This day always brings up a ton of fond (and a few not so fond) memories of Valentine’s days past. Some of my favorite ones were even during my single years before “Galentine’s Day” was an actual term. Last year we did it up big with a Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt and this year was a low-key Valentine’s Day weekend from start to finish.
I did learn a couple of Valentine’s lessons, though. The first is not go to Victoria’s Secret the few days before the 14th or you may find yourself stuck in line and staring at makeup for 30+ minutes 🙁
Similarly, if you plan to see a movie at a mall than give yourself extra time because there will be hordes of people and long lines everywhere. This is NOT conducive to cultivating an ambiance of love! haha.
In between long lines and last-minute preparations we spent a lot of quality time with each other this weekend. I created a themed dinner and a movie night which was a lot of fun, and which will be up on the blog very soon. I won’t give it all away, but it rhymes with Oolander ;).
Zoolander 2 was the movie that we fought through the crazy mall chaos to see, and I thought it was funny. Very true to what you’d expect! What says love more than fashion and comedy?! It’s like my love language and E’s intertwined :).LoHo
I also met up for lunch with some Seattle blogging buddies and we braved the pouring down rain to try to get some photos. Also coming to a blog near you! You may even recognize their faces from my Instagram account this weekend.
Back on the home front, you know your husband loves you when he will sit there and watch A Charlie Brown’s Valentine with you!
And the weekend finished off in perfect Valentine’s Day fashion. Chocolate Banana Pancakes and The Bachelor 20th Anniversary Special. To love!
How did you spend your weekend? Have you seen Zoolander 2 yet? If you are lucky enough to have tomorrow off for President’s Day, enjoy it! If you are like me and have to get up early for work as you watch your other half contentedly sleeping in, well, let’s treat ourselves to Starbucks or something to ease the pain shall we?
Have a wonderful week!!
