Hello Weekenders! Happy Monday! Chances are if you are a football fan living in Green Bay, Kansas City, Seattle, or Pittsburgh your weekend had its..er bumps. At least mine did. If so maybe this quote will make you smile. I don’t know what’s more depressing either, that my team lost or that I can’t watch them again until August! Sigh, at least I will have a lot of extra time on Sundays now to actually be productive!
Besides the bipolar football game, my weekend was interesting from the start. I attended my first Luluemon Warehouse Sale, and quickly learned that they take warehouse sales to the next level. I’m talking shuttle buses, roped off waiting lines that go from here to eternity, and rows and rows of clothes. Clothes that are significantly marked down, which is why the sale was such a big draw, but also why I needed to give myself MUCH more time. It ended up being an adrenaline-producing race against time, but I did at least score 3 pieces that I can’t wait to add to the rotation. Like these crops!
After a relaxing acupuncture appointment, I caught up with a friend at WildFin Grill over a juicy cheeseburger, and my favorite jalapeño cornbread!
If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen this snapshot of the coffee/brunch date I had with another friend on Saturday morning. It’s so good to catch up after all the craziness of holidays. That’s one of the things I love about January, it gives you a chance to exhale a bit.
I needed those feel good outings with girlfriends, because I had a 4 hour date with the dental chair that I was NOT looking forward to. That’s right, even though I’m a dental professional I still have some anxiety about dental work. So much so, that if I could I would prefer to take the little magic pill that makes me not care or remember. All the anxiety, and the dental work itself stems from my car accident. It’s been almost two decades, and some of the work is starting to have problems. Nevertheless, since I didn’t take the sedative I pumped the Kansas City/Patriot game through my ear buds. It helped take my mind off things a bit, and at least made the time go by faster.
I think I focused so much mental energy getting through that appointment that by the time I got home I was done! This girl went to bed on a Saturday night at 8:00! I seriously don’t think that has ever happened. EVER! I’m a night owl in the most unhealthiest of ways.
As for Sunday, I woke up refreshed and feeling like this in preparation for the game,
but ended the game (or at least halftime) like this:
That’s life though, isn’t it? Sometimes you make horrible decisions, or are in an insurmountable uphill battle that’s next to impossible. Like the Seahawks, I’d much rather finish fighting and showing the depths of my character than to admit defeat.
It’s really about how you play the game, isn’t it? In football and in life. This is why I love sports people! At least I will again….tomorrow 😉
Have a great week!
