Sports Rewind: NFL Season 2015
Due to inconsistent sports rewind posting (sorry!), I’m going to make this version of Sports Rewind a season summary, along with my playoff picks!
The topsy-turvy season.
I’m in a pick-em league where each week we predict who we think will win each game, and how confident we are. This was such a crazy season, because there were so many upsets. Teams that started so strong started to nosedive towards the end of the season. I think it made the season more unpredictable and exciting, unless your team is one of those that started well and finished poorly!
The PAT (point after touchdown) experiment. You wouldn’t think that moving the point after a bit back would make a big difference, but it did! Even our own super consistent kicker missed 4 this year! It will be interesting to see if they change this new rule or the kickers are forced to just get better.
Coaching. Chip Kelley specifically, whose problem connecting with his players is just the tip of the iceberg. His arrogance and not utilizing his players (ala DeMarco Murray) ultimately led to his demise. Miami fired one coach mid-season (just to fire another one today), San Fran’s Tomsula didn’t even make it a year, and the list goes on. I’m sure it’s an incredibly hard job, but this year’s ugly goes to you coach. At least if Chip Kelley ends up with the 49rs, it’ll be fun to dislike them again. It just wasn’t the same without Jim Harbaugh.
(Cue “We are the Champions”)
Ok, maybe I only won one of my leagues, but it’s the one I haven’t won yet. That means the trophy is mine! Woot Woot:). I may have gotten a little lucky a few times, but I’ll take it! My other league I was the #1 seed, but finished 3rd, so you never know.
Wild Card round: Green Bay over Washington, Seattle over Minnesota, Kansas City over Houston, and Steelers over Bengals.
Divisional Playoffs: Seattle over Carolina (woot woot!) Kansas City over New England, Steelers over Broncos, Arizona over Green Bay
Conference Championship: Seattle over Arizona (woot woot!) Kansas City over Pittsburgh
Superbowl: Seattle vs. Kansas City. Bold? Perhaps. But in my world this is a perfect scenario!
Whelp, it’s been a fun season and I can’t believe regular season is over. What are your playoff predictions?
May all your teams win….unless they play mine ;-)!
