Every year about this time I get in reflective mode, where I’m looking back at the last year and trying to decide what new goals to set for the next. Officially, 2012 was my “Year O’ Health”, but health goals are always a part of my resolutions in some capacity. My top fitness tools for 2016 should help make goals more achievable, or at least more fun 😉 Some are more like wish list items for now, but I’m pinning them for later!
Top Fitness Tools For 2016
Yes, I know that these babies are 59.00, but they link to your phone, which alerts you to up your water intake. If that’s not enough the bottle itself even glows! BPA free and in pretty colors, this could finally be the answer to my water challenged needs!
The most eco-friendly and artistic yoga mats around. They not only look good, but will take your yoga game (and your eco-friendliness) to the next level.

I had a personal trainer once tell me that using a foam roller before workouts was as effective as a 10 minute warm up. This one also serves as a deep tissue massage, and is nice and compact which is an upgrade from its larger predecessor. Ah, they hurt so good!
(I received the following monitor in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine alone.)
This heart rate monitor wraps around your torso. I found it really comfortable, and extremely accurate. It connects up with quite a few different apps, and chances are you already have one on your phone. The instructions aren’t very helpful, but I could figure it out on my own fairly easily. My hope is that as my fitness level improves my heart rate does as well, and this monitor will be a great way to track my progress. Runners would love this :).
Attaches to your back and gently vibrates every time you slouch. I can tell you 101 ways in which this would be beneficial to me, but ergonomics at work is #1.
This one is supposed to help your meditation practice by hearing what’s happening in your brain as you meditate, exercises to help you get the most out of it, and even challenges and rewards to keep you motivated. My brain tends to go on a lot of rabbit trails when I pray, and I am wondering if this would help! It sounds like it is calming and keep you focused and present.
It may not be in the budget for a while, but I’d love any of the new wearable tech. From sports bras to capris, they have transmitters that are like a Fit Bit on steroids, and allegedly much more accurate.
I’m sure you’ve all heard of Tone it Up by now, but I love their challenges. The next one starts on January 3rd, and comes with an 8 week Meal plan along with workouts, challenges, prizes, and all the other fun that comes with being a TIU girl.
