Are you a true blue fan?
Chances are, if you’ve been a fan of a specific sports franchise for years and years (and years) then you’ve experienced some losing. If you live in Seattle like me, then you have experienced more losing than winning….by a long shot. That’s what makes the past few Seahawk seasons such a high….and the new losing…so low. Losing magnifies my Sunday night blues, and can really get me in a funk. I know many of you find that absolutely ridiculous, but I’m super competitive and super loyal. Two of my favorite personality traits that can have serious drawbacks. I still shouldn’t care this much though, right? After all, it’s just a game. So here are my five ways to get yourself out of sports induced despair.
5 Things To Do When Your Team Suffers A Loss
- Count to 10 and take a deep breath, eyes closed.
- Remind yourself it’s just a game.
- Flip on the news, or a news website. You’ll be bound to see something super depressing that has to do with real life and hopefully put things in perspective.
- Give yourself a little treat. Chocolate anyone?
- Remind yourself it’s just a game. If you still feel bad, watch this. Because puppies.
Now onto my recap from the last couple weeks in the NFL!
The Ben Roethlisberger/Antonio Brown chemistry is crazy. They are both talented on their own, but when Big Ben is out of the game Antonio Brown is nearly silent. The moment that Ben was back at the helm, Antonio was unstoppable again. We see this connection other places, Brady/Gronkowski, and even the new ACDC connection (Carr/Cooper), but the chemistry between Ben and Brown is off the charts.
Seven SuperBowl starting quarterbacks lost this last week/weekend. That has never happened in the NFL. Rivers, Rogers, Wilson, Flacco, Eli Manning and Peyton Manning. Brady nearly lost as well! WTH?
The benching of stars. Who would have guessed that Peyton Manning would be benched the same game he breaks an NFL passing record? Or even previously, that bicep kissing Kaepernick would be completely benched after his confidence went MIA.
Gridiron Gingers is on a winning streak in both leagues, bring my record to 7-2. I have to say though, that I’d rather trade my record for some Seahawk wins:(.
In Other News
You may have heard the buzz that Rhonda Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm, to the shock of many. I like them both, so you won’t hear me hating on Rhonda because she’s still one heck of an athlete.
Soccer playoffs continue for the MLS Cup, but the Sounders lost in nail-biting, excruciating fashion.
Onto real life! May all your teams win this next upcoming week….unless they play mine 😉
