If you’re a sports lover, or more specifically a football fan, are you in the know on what going on around the league?
We are half way through the NFL season (tears). Can you believe it? A lot has happened in the last two weeks, but a lot has stayed the same. Some of the undefeated teams are still undefeated, and some of the teams still struggling are….still struggling. If you’ve been too busy out living life to catch up on sports lately, enjoy my brief highlights of NFL Weeks 7 & 8. They not be what the analysts would choose, but they have their own halo flair.
The Kicker Dance.
Justin Tucker celebrated his game winning kick in most awesome way ever. Yes, yes, yes! We need more of this. Like Meow. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face after this one. They say he was nodding to Drake’s Hotline Bling. Maybe that makes it even more hilarious. Either way, more kickers need to step up their celebration game.
That’s my fantasy kicker baby.
Injuries. This is not the first time that injuries made my bad list, but I can think of two players right off the top of my head that were lying motionless for long periods of time. Scary stuff. It’s easy to forget that playing this game is risky. Ricardo Lockette is out for the season after having neck surgery yesterday as a result of that hit.
The Dez Bryant situation. Supposedly the media edited/cut his words to make it seem that he was saying Lockette (mentioned above) had it coming. He (and the Seahawks) adamantly refuse that he was saying this regard to the injury. I’m not a fan of Dez or his outbursts really, but to put such damaging words in someone’s mouth like that is not ok. I’d be mad too. Maybe just with fewer F bombs.
From riches to rags. Week 7 I won in both my leagues, and Week 8 handed Gridiron Gingers her first double loss weekend. Thank goodness my real life teams won Sunday or I may have had an even harder time crawling out of bed the next day!
In Other Sports News
I’m sure you’ve heard, but the Cubs did not make it to the World Series:(. Alas, Back to the Future was wrong. The Royals beat the Mets, but at least they didn’t sweep them?
Our Seattle Sounders first beat the LA Galaxy (which we seem to always lose to in the playoffs), and then we proceeded to beat Dallas on the same day that the Seahawks beat Dallas. Considering the struggles that the Sounders had this season, I couldn’t be happier with how things are going now in MLS.
This is kind of cool too!
Enjoy your couple of days before football starts back up again!
May all your teams win…unless they play mine 😉
