I was given this guide in exchange for an honest review. All bloggy opinions are mine alone!
As I sit here and type there are only 2 calendar months left. Two! This coincides well this week’s A is for Adelaide Challenge (resolution update)! 2015 is my first full year of blogging, and looking back I have come a long way, but I have an even longer way to run (are you hearing Sound of Music, are ya?). I love learning how to improve in all areas of my life, and blogging probably the most of all because there is SO much to learn. I feel like a sponge. A sponge that sometime reaches its maximum capacity, but a sponge none the less!
Looking back to my new year’s blogging goals I can see part of the problem was that my focus was far too small. Learn HTML and get a custom header. I guess I have 2 months to become proficient in tech talk if I want to meet that goal, but at least I have a header :). I was in a darker place the week I wrote my goals so I think at the time I just wanted them short and sweet. I think it’s safe to say that even if they were short, they were lofty and I failed in most of them except for organizing my house more. There is still work to be done here.
As the year progressed, I really developed a thirst for improving as a blogger, writer, amateur photographer etc. So when I stumbled upon the opportunity to review The Loud Mouth Lifestyle’s 30 Day Guide To Bolder Blogging I jumped at the chance. Stephanie has a book, E courses, and even coaching all designed to motivate so I had high hopes that this guide would be as beneficial as everything else I’ve seen from her.
I can honestly say I was not disappointed in the least! Stephanie has a way of truly making you feel like she’s right in your living room sippin’ on her drink of choice and making you laugh, all the while showering her wisdom left and right.
Visually the guide was easy to read and colorful, with just the right amount of space to write in for the “homework” sessions. It’s one that I will be printing off and saving for sure. It’s easy to read and easy to understand regardless of how long you’ve been blogging.
The content is spot on and applicable, with exercises you can do on each day to make sure that all this wisdom gets put into practice! Otherwise what good will it do?
My favorite section (that I thought was unique) was “Reward Your Reader”. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, dear readers, but my wheels are definitely turning on that one! She really put things into a proper perspective.
I actually think the content was so good that 30 days is pushing it a little to get done. Maybe if you are a full time blogger you could squeeze in chunks of time each day (along with everything else right), but to really give each section the time it deserves it could easily take you past the month mark. I guess the beauty of courses like this is that you can go at your own pace.
Or, if you are like me you get stuck on Day One because I tried to get nerdy with it and create an extra sidebar. Long story, but this actually ended up causing me to lose my sidebar entirely along with hundreds of images from previous blog posts. I’m still reeling from that one! My advice to you is that if you aren’t super sure of what you’re doing then get help from someone who knows better than you. In my case that leaves the field wide open:).
Even though I’ve gone through the entire guide I’m still working on implementing much of what I learned. I feel like it’s giving me a big head start on my 2016 planning as well as helping me finish this year strong. I should have a much clearer focus of where this blog is going when that clocks strikes 12 on New Years.
If you are a blogger how are your goals for this last year shaping up? Or how are your resolutions in general looking? Are there things you incorporate to make meeting your goals achievable?
Even if you are a rock star and crushing all your goals for the year, I think anyone can benefit from this guide. Sooo….not only am I giving you all the inside scoop on how this will help you be a better blogger, but I even get to giveaway a copy!
