Is it just me or does each NFL season get a little crazier? The 2015 Season has begun with guffaws and gusto, and it will be interesting to see how things play out. My attention was more diverted than normal in the world of sports this weekend, but I still managed to follow along, and I definitely did not miss the Seattle game.
I grew up in a “Raider Hater” house, because the Seahawks and Raiders were rivals in the AFC West. My parent’s still can’t stand them. The hatred doesn’t run quite as deep with me, and I find myself rooting for them to get some wins under their belt because they have been bad. Very bad. For a looong time. So to see them beat Baltimore was kind of a David vs. Goliath moment. Although that analogy seems sacrilegious because Oakland is no King David, but you catch my drift.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off another big upset by beating Drew Brees and the Saints, Jacksonville beat the Dolpins, and the Jets beat Indianapolis! What football world am I living in? These are all teams that have struggled for some time, but it’s nice to see the tables turned every once in a while.
Big timers getting injured. Tony Romo, Drew Brees, Jay Cutler (although I’m sure the backup can’t be that much worse), Eddie Lacey, Tevin Coleman, and a few lesser injuries have the teams (and fantasy teams) trying to figure out how to salvage a season.
The holdout. You know, my favorite player. The one that we splurged on to get the Limited Jersey for my anniversary gift just one year ago. What a difference a year can make, and how fast the love can die. Even if he’s doing it on principle and trying to be the Erin Brockovich of football contracts, I don’t really care. I care about winning, and team chemistry, and you Sir Kam are severely messing things up. The only #31 I’m indulging in this week will be at Baskin Robbins.
Kam….you have failed this city.
This is why I dropped him in fantasy. Such high hopes too!
Tell me about it, and I think they’ll steamroll their way through the regular season too.
This next video is titled “Chiefs fan watching the game last night“. If I had to adopt another team it would be the Chiefs due to a good friend’s allegiance, so this video is funny yet heartbreaking. It could have easily been said of the Seahawk’s last 2 games as well. Rough. I feel ya kid.’s
Gridiron Gingers won both games, only slightly taking the sting out of the Seahawk game.

Seattle Sounders FC (Soccer) won the Cascadia Cup (between NW team). A few weeks ago it wasn’t looking like we had a chance at winning anything, let alone the Cascadia Cup so that was pretty cool to see. Welcome back Oba.
Jason Day won the BMW Championship, not only earning a cool 8.25 million, but making him only the 3rd player to win at least 5 tournaments in the same season since 1995.
Baseball is still happening, but I’ll probably tune out until the World Season. I hung with the Mariner all the way until August when I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ll see you them again in the spring. There’s always next year…..
NFL Week 3 kicks off Thursday with Washington vs the Giants.
See you next Tuesday! 😉
