My Brown-Eyed Girl
These products were given in exchange for being part of Chewy’s blogger review program. All opinions expressed human or canine are 100% ours!
My Bullmastiff Bella has a mean bark, but she is probably the gentlest mini-giant you will ever find. She rarely ever uses that bark (and even has bells to ring when she wants to go outside because she’s so quiet) except for one thrilling event. Packages at the door. They drive her crazy! She can sense a Fed Ex truck from down the street and then all craziness ensues. So Stich-Fix day is probably the most exciting day of the month. Kinda sad.
Putting away the obvious that her mom has probably engaged in more online shopping than she should, the question arises as to why she goes so bananas over boxes? I can’t remember when they contained anything exciting for her considering I buy her food and treats at specialty stores.
Until today. When Chewy.com contacted me wanting to know if I would be a part of their blogger review program my interest peaked. My one concern was the quality of the products. I’m
kind of definitely a food snob when it comes to my pets. When Bella was a puppy I spent hours upon hours researching what the best possible high-quality foods were that I could give her. When the estimated life span of giant breed dogs is 8-10 years I want to stretch that out as long as humanly possible.
The list of Chewy treats were all brands that I recognized for their healthy quality, and if I didn’t recognize the brand I was impressed by their ingredients (or lack thereof). My concerns were immediately squashed. I picked Natural Balance Belly Bites Semi-moist dog treats in Salmon and Legume Formula. Why? Two reasons: Belly is one of her many nicknames so I took that as a sign, and the words semi-moist (besides the word moist being a pet peeve). She’s an old lady, and her funny teeth (the Bulldog part of her) in addition to an insane amount of jaw strength, has led to some cracked teeth and extractions:(. If you were partly gumming it would you like a hard treat?
There was also a small rubber treat ball in my package. I assumed it was for our cat Baxter and not Bella because she would destroy that thing in a nano second! It might also be the perfect choke size :(. Baxter seemed more interested in the camera, unfortunately.
Instead of a Stitch Fix Review, here is Bella’s version of what she thought of Chewy. Something tells me she won’t send anything back ;).
Will you please just open it already?
It smells delightful!
Thinking of what to do to earn my Belly Bite!
I can only hold it for a second because I want that Belly Bite SOOO bad!
Goodnight Mom. Goodnight Chewy. Goodnight Belly Bites.
Today was a good day.
Slobbery Kissses, Bella
