Advent Week Four
It’s the last Sunday before Christmas, and as I light the pink candle on the advent wreath I’m focusing on the Love that surrounds Christmas. Technically the love that came down on Christmas, and the reason so many celebrate.
There are many different kinds of love, and each is special in its own right. Love in friendships, family, romance, they all have their place in my life and I love celebrating them this time of year. But the love that is Christmas is the true unconditional love expressed in one magnificent, ancient plan that manifested itself on Christmas Day. I’m so undeserving of that type of love and my mind can’t wrap around it, let alone the Creator wrapped and lying in a manger.
This Advent week (and going forward as much as possible), besides focusing my gratitude on the love shown me, I am going to try harder to extend that type of love to others. To love a little deeper, less selfishly, and without any expectations of things in return. In essence that’s the spirit of Christmas.
Have a wonderful last week of Advent!
