One of the things I am most thankful for this month in particular are meals shared with family. Family can look like many things, but when we all come together over food in abundance I’m warmed from the inside out.
Now I don’t have kids yet nor have I been assigned the task of providing a Thanksgiving meal, but I can only imagine the stress if I wasn’t able to make this meal happen for my family on this important day. That’s why I’m kicking off my monthly featured charity with The Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project. It started 3 years ago when a group of mothers admitted they were not able to afford a Thanksgiving meal. This led to readers stepping up and providing, which then led to this charity being born.
There are 4 days left to adopt the 332 families that are wait listed. At the time of this post there are already 1,807 families who will have meals on the table!
