Dear Young Angie,
Here are some pointers to help you get through life a little easier. You probably won’t listen to them because you’re a little headstrong, but it is future you talking so maybe that will help :).
I know you think that McDonalds is pretty much the best thing ever, but you’ve got to stop eating that garbage. Seriously, your Big Mac addiction is not going to help your figure or your health. Someday you are going to find out about “pink slime” and then you will be cured, but do us a favor and don’t eat there in the first place.
Embrace being tall. It has so many positives to it, and you only end up looking more awkward when you are insecure about it. On the flip side, don’t care so much about height in the opposite sex. You’re going to date many tall guys and realize that tall doesn’t equal quality. Broaden your horizons.
You will still be friends with most of your good friends from high school, cherish those relationships and seriously don’t care what anybody else thinks. This is wisdom that goes beyond high school, that other people’s opinions should not shape your thought and beliefs. Don’t let anybody make you feel less than.
Start playing beach volleyball. I know that is hard in Seattle and Renton right now but just try to make it happen.
The Seahawks will win the SuperBowl. Spoiler alert I know, but it will make all those losing years easier and I won’t tell you when!
Watch people’s actions not their words. When they give you red flags, run. Run, don’t walk. This great piece of advice will save you drama and heartaches of the highest kind.
Be nice to your brother, even though he is annoying.
Don’t be so afraid of failing, go for what you want.
When you are a senior on January 17th don’t get in the car please. Either that or take a nap. Our face will thank you.
Dad was right, life isn’t fair. Try to get used to it and enjoy the season you’re in. Maybe if you started doing that earlier on it would be easier for present-Angie.
Oh, and please don’t spiral perm your hair . It sounds like a good idea an everyone is doing it, but believe me it’s not.
At all times chin up :)!
